The Hedgeley Homestead offers a unique combination of both HomeStay and FarmStay accommodation and meals. The spacious and grand old homestead was built in about 1865, and is surrounded by pleasant colonial gardens, in the rural setting of the Esk Valley. The Hedgeley Homestead is on the Napier/Taupo Highway (S. H. 5) about 1 Km west of the picturesque Eskdale Church, and only about 15 minutes from Napier city (10 minutes from the airport). The Homestead is set back from the road among mature trees and gardens, which are often used for weddings and photo opportunities. It is close to the Eskdale Church, the Esk River access, the Eskdale public domain, and the Esk Valley vineyards and wineries. The tranquil gardens, the rural setting, and the pleasant old fashioned atmosphere, all combine to make your stay enjoyable. Kinda poetic isn't it?) Home cooked meals are available on request in the original spacious family dining room. The Hedgeley Homestead provides a warm comfortable smoke free atmosphere, and is also the home of one of New Zealand’s leading Dachshund breeding kennels. (Unfortunately the farm environment is unsuitable for small children.) Smoke free
